Graduate students in good standing return to the BGSU campus for their second year of study. Students with assistantships teach beginning and intermediate-level language classes while completing their graduate studies. Course offerings provide the opportunity to investigate topics in Spanish and Spanish American literature, culture, linguistics, pedagogy, film studies, and the role of Hispanics in the U.S. Our teaching and testing program is proficinecy-based. A masters degree from BGSU ensures that the recipient has attained a very high level of proficiency in language, culture, and literature. Recent graduates have found full-time employment teaching Spanish at high schools, colleges, and universities. Many of our students continue on towards a Ph.D.
