The program is divided into two semesters, corresponding approximately to the academic calendar on the BGSU campus. All courses
are regular university offerings and receive credit directly from the Office of the Registrar of BGSU.
Students may choose to study abroad for one semester (Fall or Spring) or for the entire year at the Institut des Etudes Françaises
de Touraine, where BGSU has maintained an undergraduate program for over 35 years. Those studying in France during the Fall
may also participate in an optional two-week study module in Paris, where they will enroll in language course work at the
Alliance Française and complete additional cultural assignments. Those studying in France in the spring may also participate
in an optional two-week study module in Ouagadougou, Burkina-Faso (West Africa), where they will follow culture courses taught
exclusively in French by faculty members from the Université de Ouagadougou, as well as field specialists. Following the Burkina
program, students may complete a 2-week non-credit, unpaid internship (available on a competitive basis). For more details,
see the Program Overview.
