La Maison Française sponsors (or co-sponsors) many activities open to the surrounding communities, including:
- Weekly "Cafés conversations," conversation hours during which all levels of French speakers are welcome to come talk and
meet others interested in the language and cultures of the French speaking world - Weekly interactive cultural activities, which highlight the various cultural domains of the Francophone world (from music
to cuisine to politics, the list of cultural discussions is endless) - Monthly-distinguished speakers of various French and/or Francophone backgrounds or interests come to La Maison to share their experiences - Bi-monthy cultural dinners of various Francophone specialties: Because seating is limited, a sign-up sheet is posted at
130 Shatzel Hall two weeks prior to each dinner. - Social events, stressing French and/or Francophone customs, occur once a semester at La Maison. Some of our past events have included: An Evening in Paris, Soirée Africaine, La Fête des Rois, Mardi Gras and La Chandeleur. |
