The Society for Community Research and Action (SCRA), Division 27 of the American Psychological Association, brings together
people who are committed to promoting health, empowerment, social action, and preventing problems among individuals, groups
and communities. A number of faculty and students at BG are active members of SCRA. Bowling Green is also one of the founding
schools of the Counsel of Educational Programs in Community Psychology, a branch of SCRA devoted to graduate and undergraduate
training in the field. Click here to learn more about SCRA.
Professional Journals
Published in association with SCRA, the American Journal of Community Psychology offers quantitative and qualitative research on community psychological interventions at the social, neighborhood, organizational,
group, and individual levels. Similarly, the Journal of Community Psychology is a peer-reviewed journal devoted to research, evaluation, assessment and intervention, and review articles that deal with
human behavior in community settings.
