Message from the Director

ImageIt's my pleasure to introduce you to the Center for Photochemical Sciences. We are proud of our Center and hope that in surveying these web pages you will get a sense of the excitement and the opportunities that exist at Bowling Green State University.

Our strength is in our people. Our alumni rank among the most sought after in the world in industry and academia for their skills in manipulating and understanding matter through the use of light. Many of them work for the very industries that define the communications worlds in which we are now all living. Our faculty stand among the most able in their fields. They are experts in areas ranging from laser imaging and spectroscopies to the development of new sensors that follow environmental pollutants and therapeutic drugs in vivo. A large group works on new methods for making hard copy from digital images. Our students are hard working research scientists in the making, and they come from all over the world to study here.

Regardless of your interest in the photochemical sciences, you'll find the Center for Photochemical Sciences an interesting place to consider. If you are a potential graduate student or post-doctoral associate, consider the research opportunities here. If you are a faculty member seeking an exciting venue for a sabbatical year, think about coming here. If you are an industry representative looking for consulting expertise or business opportunities, we may have plenty of things to offer. If you are just a fan of new development in areas of new technology, you'll enjoy visiting our facilities.

Bowling Green is a small community located close to a major metropolitan district. Our university has fine facilities, NCAA Division I athletic teams, excellent music, and wonderful opportunities in the theater and the arts. The nearby Toledo Museum of Art is recognized as one of the finest in the world. The Toledo Symphony and various theaters provide the finest in musical entertainment year round.

We welcome your interest in the Center for Photochemical Sciences. If we can answer any questions for you, please feel free to call on us.

Yours truly,
