Requirements for the undergraduate philosophy Major
At least 33 hours in philosophy classes.
At least 5 courses overall at the 300 or 400 level.
Logic: Any 1 of the following: 103 (Intro to Logic), 303 (Symbolic Logic) or 203 (Philosophical Methodology).
History of Philosophy : Any 2 of the following: 211 (History of Ancient Philosophy), 212 (History of Modern Philosophy), 311 (History of Medieval Philosophy), 411 (History of Anglo-American Philosophy), or 412 (Contemporary Continental).
Normative Philosophy: Any 1 of the following: 202 (History of Ethics), 204 (Aesthetics), 312 (Political Philosophy), 318 (Philosophy of Law), or 425 (Moral and Social Philosophy).
Metaphysics and Epistemology : Any 1 of the following: 216 (Intro to Phil of Mind), 230 (Scientific Reasoning), 316 (Phil of Psychology), 330 (Theory of Knowledge), 406 (Phil of Language), 414 (Metaphysics), 431 (Topics in Phil of Science), or 433 (Space and Time).
Requirements for the Minor
At least 20 hours in philosophy classes
1 History of philosophy (211, 212, 311, 411, 412)
1 Normative philosophy (202, 204, 312, 318, or 425)
