I am a new visiting faculty member at Bowling Green for the 2012-2013 academic year.  I finished my Ph.D. at the University of Michigan in 2010 and then spent two years as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for Ethics in Public Life and the Ford School of Public Policy at Michigan.

My main research and teaching interests include ethics, political philosophy, bioethics, feminist philosophy, and law and philosophy.  My dissertation aimed to provide an account of ethical inquiry from a pragmatist perspective.  The major issues I focus on there have to do with whether ethical progress is possible, the nature of deliberation about values, and ethical objectivity.  An article which stems from my dissertation—“Ethical Progress as Problem Resolving”—is currently available in early view at the Journal of Political Philosophy.  In my dissertation and other work—including my paper “Second Personal Respect, the Experiential Aspect of Respect, and Feminist Philosophy” published in Hypatia in 2010—I aim to bring insights from feminist philosophy to bear on mainstream issues in moral philosophy.

I am currently teaching Introduction to Philosophy, Philosophy of Punishment, and Philosophy of Law.

More information about my research and teaching can be found at my website here.
