Faculty and Staff News
The department has been searching for faculty to replace those we lost over the last year. To date, one tenured position has
been filled: we are delighted to have David Shoemaker joining us in the Fall. See the Department Chair David Sobel's "Word From the Chair" for more about this and other hirings for the Fall.
Al Decker passed away in November 2003. Click on the link to the left to read about the memorial lecture that was given in his honor.
Margy's son Jonathan De Luca, whom many of us remember from when he was waist-height, celebrated his 21st birthday on June 18th. (Now do you feel old?)
Priscilla Ibarra's family experienced both joy and sorrow within two weeks as Priscilla first lost a grandfather but then gained a niece, Jasmine,
shortly afterwards.
Diane Petteys celebrated her, erm, twenty-somethingth birthday in March, and it was such a good party that Steve Weimer decided to claim that it was his birthday too. Here are some photographs taken at the event.
