Getting to Bowling Green:

If you’re flying in to join us, you will probably want to fly into either Toledo or Detroit Metro Airport.  The Toledo airport is 20 minutes away from Bowling Green, but compared with Detroit, the fares are often higher and it is less likely that you’ll find a direct flight from your local airport. Getting to Bowling Green from the Detroit airport, however, requires a bit longer drive (just under an hour and a half).

Airport Shuttle
A shuttle service is available from both airports. The shuttle fares are as follows: 

Detroit Metro Airport: $102 one-way between 6 am and 11 pm, with a surcharge of $40 outside those hours

Toledo Airport: $52 one-way between 6 am and 11 pm, with a surcharge of $35 outside those hours

If you are arriving close to the same time as another workshop attendee, it is possible to share a shuttle for a reduced fare:

Detroit Metro Airport Co-Share: $60 each (2-4 persons)

Toledo Airport Co-Share: $35 each (2-4 persons)

Driving directions to Bowling Green from Toledo Express Airport

Coming out of airport entrance, turn right (east) onto Airport Highway. Follow this to the junction of I-475 and go south on I-475 (signposted for Dayton). Follow I-475 south until it merges with I-75. Continue on I-75 south (again, follow signs for Dayton). Follow I-75 south for approximately 10 miles to Exit 181 for Bowling Green. As you come off the exit ramp, you come to East Wooster St. Turn right on East Wooster for the University, the Best Western Hotel and the Hampton Inn.  Turn left for the Holiday Express Inn.

Driving directions to Bowling Green from Detroit Metro Airport

Coming out of airport entrance, follow signs to I-94 West to Chicago. Follow this approximately 3 miles to the junction with I-275 and go south on I-275 (signposted for Toledo). Follow I-275 south until it merges with I-75. Continue on I-75 south, which goes straight through the center of Toledo. Follow the signs for Dayton from here on. Follow I-75 south of Toledo for approximately 15 miles to Exit 181 for Bowling Green. As you come off the exit ramp, you come to East Wooster St. Turn right on East Wooster for the University, the Best Western Hotel and the Hampton Inn.  Turn left for the Holiday Express Inn.

Directions from I-75 to the Best Western Hotel

As you come to the top of the exit ramp, you arrive at East Wooster St. Turn right at the traffic light onto East Wooster St and go down the hill.  Pass through two more sets of traffic lights and immediately after the second set, you will see the Best Western on the left (just past McDonalds). 

Directions from I-75 to the Hampton Inn

As you come to the top of the exit ramp, you arrive at East Wooster St. Turn right at the traffic light onto East Wooster St and go down the hill. At the first set of traffic lights, turn left onto Campbell Hill Rd. The hotel is on the right hand side.

Directions to Philosophy Department in Shatzel Hall from I-75 (exit 181)

To get to the Philosophy Department, which is in Shatzel Hall, drive west on East Wooster St to the fourth set of traffic lights and turn right there onto Thurstin Ave. Shatzel Hall is the third building on the right hand side. Just past Shatzel Hall, there is a small parking lot with metered parking. There is also a larger lot with some metered parking directly opposite Shatzel Hall on the other side of Thurstin Ave. At weekends and after 6 pm, parking is free in that lot.  The Philosophy Department is on the third floor.

For Other Hotels, University and Town Center

As you come to the top of the exit ramp, you arrive at East Wooster St. Turn right onto East Wooster. You are now heading west on East Wooster St , toward the University, hotels and Bowling Green town center.
For the town center, stay on East Wooster St for about half a mile beyond Thurstin Ave, and you will arrive at Main St.
