Center for Neuroscience, Mind & Behavior
MISSION STATEMENT
The J. P. Scott Center for Neuroscience, Mind & Behavior at Bowling Green State University is an interdisciplinary research center that is comprised of faculty, post-doctoral researchers, graduate, and undergraduate students from the Departments of Psychology, Biology, Communication Disorders and Philosophy, who are actively pursuing interdisciplinary programs of research that advance understanding of the dynamic relationship between the nervous system, mind, and behavior. The general mission is to offer a mechanistic understanding of integrated systems of behavior at levels of analysis that bridge individual molecules, cells, and circuits with mental processes and cognition, prepare undergraduate students, graduate students, and post-doctoral fellows for research careers in industry, academia, and government, and share its neuroscience and behavioral expertise with the wider community through public outreach and K-12 education. A research focus of the Center is the Neural Basis of Communication. |
