Meetings are generally held on Tuesdays at
7:00 pm in room 459 of the math building.

Here are the minutes from the meetings we've held so far this
year
10/14/03
- Dr. Hoffman spoke about the Putnam exam and is looking for people to join
the team...not for this semester but maybe for next spring or fall. It is
possible that one could actually sign up for the exam and get a credit for it.
Please contact him or Dr. McGovern for more information. (Dr. McGovern has
copies of some sample problems.)
- Marcy talked about Dance Marathon. Right now we have Dr. Juan Bes and
Marcy as dancers, Dr. John Gresser and myself as moralers, and are looking for
more people to volunteer. If you are interested please see Marcy
(marcyEG@bgnet.bgsu.edu) to sign up. October 26th is the first day of canning.
It will take place here in BG. Please talk to Marcy if you want to help her
out go door to door and collect money.

- November 23rd ~ Sylvania.
Hopefully everyone can make it out
at least once.
- We are getting somewhere with the list proc for KME. Details
upcoming.

Dr. Bes spoke about Mathematical Association of America (MAA), an
organization aimed at math education.
- Opportunity to meet Carl Cowen on October 16. Great opportunity for grad
students and anyone interested in biomathematics. Email Dr. Bes if interested

- MAA conference at Ohio Northern University Fri Oct 17. Variety of speakers
throughout day and a banquet in the evening. All talks are free, but banquet
costs money. Trying to get group together to attend.
Possible fund
raiser ideas:
- Sell tickets for $10 with a random three digit number. Use it for pick
three lottery. (Nathan)
- Papa John's Pizza cards (Melissa)
