NOTE: The Journalism and Public Relations course requirements have changed for students entering the program beginning Fall 2011. You can read more about the new curriculum here. For information about the "old" curriculum, please see the 2010-2011 Student Handbook.
Each journalism major chooses one of three areas of specialization called sequences.
The broadcast journalism sequence aims at competence in the electronic media, emphasizing television and video.
The print journalism sequence is generally associated with training for reporting, writing, and editing positions on weekly and daily newspapers and online publications, wire services, magazines and other publications.
Public relations includes inter-group communications and relating the interests of business, industry, government and public and private institutions to each other and to society.
