Welcome to the Department of Journalism at Bowling Green State University, in Bowling Green, Ohio. Our majors choose to specialize in one of three sequences: broadcast journalism, print journalism or public relations. We currently serve 300-320 undergraduate majors. Students enjoy small class size (limited to 20 in most classes) and direct interaction with faculty, who all have professional experience in journalism. The majority of our undergraduate courses are taught by full-time faculty who are as devoted to teaching as they are to mass communication research. Our journalism programs are nationally accredited by the ACEJMC, and because of our two-internship requirement, our graduates are guaranteed to have significant practical experience. Students have many opportunities to learn journalism firsthand at BGSU: from the student-produced nightly television news program, BG24 News, to the award-winning daily student newspaper, The BG News, the quarterly magazine Miscellany the annual yearbook, The Key, and other student newspapers, such as The Obsidian, and The Gavel. Our department is part of the School of Communication Studies at BGSU. For more information, contact our school staff at (419) 372-8349. Department of Journalism Webmaster: Jim Foust
