16 years after the Revolution and just days before Christmas, a local television station in Bucharest has invited several guests to share their moments of glory, as they allegedly stormed city hall, chanting “down with Ceausescu!,” before Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceausescu, and his wife fled the presidential palace by helicopter so many years ago, An alcoholic history teacher and a lonely retiree, who moonlights as Santa, are forced to answer questions from dubious viewers who aren’t overly convinced that the Revolution ever took place in their city. - taken from Gish Film Theater website

Gadabout Traveling Film Festival (Film Screening)

Elsewhere @ the Joe E. Brown Theater, University Hall

The Gadabout is a nationally touring film festival that screens a program of 20+ international short films. Independent in every sense, these films share the same willingness to challenge the conventions set for film making. The Gadabout is a distribution avenue for truly indie film makers that distrust Hollywood and the commercial film festival circuit. We are NOT a competition, rather a celebration of what is possible in independent film and video.Above all, the Gadabout is super cool. We tour in a van, and show amazing films to our new friends we get to meet while traveling. We have completed 5 national tours and have screened the works of film makers from all over the country, and the world (India, Singapore,Australia, Argentina, Isreal, the U.K., and more). Independent in every sense, these films share the same willingness to challenge the conventions set for commercial film making. This is film making as art, entertainment, and fun.
