International Studies Program
Possible Focus Areas for ISP Majors
The following are possible focus areas within International Studies. If a related major or minor is available it is indicated. Click on the name of the focus area to view suggested courses within that area. International Studies majors may select three courses from any group to form a concentration, or consult with an advisor to create a different focus or selection of courses that meet their needs. There are over 200 courses that may be used as electives (if part of a reasonable combination); this list is the most common combinations.
International Studies students should be aware that their electives may not double count within a related minor. Thus a student with an interest in the Politics and Governments of Africa may have a concentration of Africa within the major plus a minor in Political Science, or a concentration on Government within the major plus a minor in Africana Studies. BUT they may NOT use the same courses twice within the major and minor in either field.
