History majors at BGSU praise the department for helping them connect to faculty as well as to each other.
Phi Alpha Theta Phi Alpha Theta is a professional society whose mission is to promote the study of history through the encouragement of research,
good teaching, publication and the exchange of learning and ideas among historians. The history department at BGSU has a local
branch of the society.
Membership requirements are: minimum of 12 hours in history courses, 3.10 average in history courses, rank in upper 35% of
class. Members need not be History majors. The local branch is presently inviting eligible students to join. For information
