Ms. Kathryn Brown

Ms. Kathryn Brown, Instructor (M.A., Bowling Green State University, 2010).  Ms. Brown has research interests in U.S. history, especially women's history and the American progressive era.  Her M.A. thesis, "The Education of the Woman Citizend, 1917-18," is currently under revision for publication.  This project explored the impact of World War I on the construction of American female citizenship.  In addition to teaching courses on U.S. history and world history, Ms. Brown helped develop and pilot the History Department's new course on historical methodology for history and education majors.  Ms. Brown's interest in training students who plan to teach history in junior high and high school stems from her experience at the secondary level.
