Dr. A. Dwayne Beggs, Instructor (Ph.D., Bowling Green State University, 2010).  Dr. Beggs has research interests in U.S. History with a primary focus on U.S. foreign policy during the Vietnam War era.  Both his M.A. thesis and doctoral dissertation focused on why Congress abdicates war power to presidents and why Congress has such a difficult time reigning in a president, once war power has been granted to him.  To gain insight into this, Dr. Beggs has focused on two key players, Senators Ernest Gruening (Dem-Alaska) and Wayne Morse (Dem-Oregon), tracing their dissent over President Lyndon Johnson leading America to heightened involvement in Vietnam.  Dr. Beggs has taught both world history surveys, both American history surveys, The Vietnam War, History of Church and State Relations in the U.S., and the U.S. Cold War era.  Dr. Beggs has also taught at OSU-Lima and Taylor University-Fort Wayne Campus.  Dr. Beggs has a keen interest in helping students learn about America's past so they will be equipped with the tools necessary to impact the country's future.
