Courses

The Russian Museum, Square of the Arts, St. Petersburg
People entering the program generally do not have to have prior knowledge
of Russian. Certain courses —for example, on culture and
film—are conducted in English. All offerings fulfill an array of university or college requirements (see the Undergraduate Catalog for details).
Students with prior knowledge of Russian should contact the department for
placement information.
If you would like to study Russian, it is best to register
for RUSN 101 in the fall semester.
Introductory and Intermediate language courses are four credits each. These courses feature a variety of activities and use of the Language Learning Center.
A minor
or major in Russian includes courses on language, culture, literature,
and other subjects, such as the cinema. Many students are in other fields, like International Studies or another language, at the same time they are majoring or minoring in Russian.
The Undergraduate Catalog lists requirements for a Russian major or minor.
A brief description of each Russian (RUSN) course and the current schedule of courses is available here.
