YOU ARE INVITED!!

You are living in the United States for a year to study English. During your first month here, you are invited to a birthday party by a friend from school. You are excited, because this is your first American party!

To prepare for the party you will:

  • R.S.V.P. (tell your friend that you will come)
  • Buy a present
  • Get Directions
  • Give Directions to a friend

During this assignment, you will be graded on the future tense (using will).

Introduction

Summarize

The introduction should do just that...introduce the activity to the student. It should be a fairly short summary of what they can expect in the coming tasks. Do not go into too much detail here, that will be done later!Set the sceneTypical webquests begin by giving a scenario. Try to be creative here. Remember that the more fun and realistic you make it seem, the more likely the students will put in that little extra effort, too.Assign RolesIf your website will be done in groups, you should use the introduction to assign group roles. If you are asking for groups of four, there should be four roles, etc.

Hint

Try to make your roles coincide with your subject. For instance, if you task involves overseas travel you can have one person be the budgeter, one person be the travel agent, one person be the tour guide, one person be the ambassador, etc.
