Introduction
This webquest is designed for first year German students (101) to help reinforce their knowledge of modal verb conjugation and modal verb sentence construction.  In the webquest, students will use reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.

Learners
This webquest necessitates an introductory knowledge of modal verb conjugation and modal verb sentence construction (which is acquired at some point in a first-year German class).

Process
Lesson should be completed in a 50 minute lab.  Should be completed individually.  Students should have experience using Audacity, Microsoft Word, and the internet.

Resources Needed
Internet Access.  Blackboard Digital Dropbox.   Audacity.  Microsoft Word (or other word processor).

Evaluation
Each task will be evaluated based on  1) the correct construction of modal verb sentences, i.e. correct conjugation and word order.  2) completing the task as directed.  3) appropriateness/accuracy of student responses (this is defined in detail in the rubric listed on the Evaluation page)

Conclusion
At the conclusion of the assignment students will have learned about German sport culture, how to buy tickets for public events in Germany, while increasing their confidence and skill in their use of German modal verbs.
