Introduction

This webquest is designed for French 212, Reading French, with a focus on developing student’s skills while applying them to a cultural context. Students will participate in reading comprehension tasked based on the French overseas department of Martinique.

Learners

Students taking this level of French are expected to have already completed the equivalent of FR 202, therefore they all should be prepared to put their prior French knowledge into practice.

Curriculum Standards

Conforms to the curriculm standards of Bowling Green State University's Reading French 212 program.

Process

This lesson is projected to be completed during a 75 minute class period. Students should work in pairs. Students should have experience using Microsoft Word, Audacity, Photo Booth, and the Internet.

Evaluation

Each task will be evaluated based on 1) reading comprehension as evidenced in the “Travel Journal” 2) completion of the tasks as directed 3) quality and creativity. This is defined in greater detail in the rubric listed on the Evaluation page.

Conclusion

Finally, this web quest will have enabled students to use their knowledge of the French language to elicit information while at a virtual travel destination, in hopes of augmenting their confidence in the practicality of their skills as a French learner.
