Resources

The Department has had a writer-in-residence program for the past 10 years.
Writers from Germany or Austria regularly offer courses on their work and
on contemporary German literature during the fall semester.
The German Club, organized by students, hosts a weekly Kaffeestunde or
coffee hour as well as a weekly Stammtisch. Students have the opportunity
to practice their German with upper-division German majors, grad students
and German and Austrian exchange students at both events.
German drama productions are organized depending on the interest of
students.
The weekly International Film Series, organized by the Department,
affords students the opportunity to view classic and contemporary German
films.
An extensive departmental videotheque holds approximately 500 German
feature films and television programs.
Daily German News is available on the campus cable system.
Free weekly tutorial sessions are available in the departmental library.
