BGSU Summer Salzburg Program
BGSU's summer program in Salzburg, Austria runs in cooperation with the University of Salzburg and the Internationale Ferienkurse für Deutsche Sprache und Germanistik (IFK).
We offer three- and six-week summer language programs for undergraduate and graduate U.S. university credit. Qualified high school students are also eligible. Pre-college teachers are encouraged to apply.
Participants are enrolled at Bowling Green State University for the duration of the program and receive 4 BGSU credits for each three-week session completed. Specific course equivalents are determined according to previous courses completed and how participants perform on the IFK placement test. Sample items from the placement text are provided at orientation.
Salzburg offers a beautiful and exciting setting for study abroad, and IFK's superior staff and resources create an excellent learning environment. Costs are reasonable and financial aid is available, making the summer program an affordable opportunity for all interested students.
The Salzburg Summer Program can also be productively combined with The Academic Year Abroad in Salzburg. For AYA participants, the summer program provides an unique opportunity to improve language skills and acclimate to the cultural environment before university study begins in the fall.
