The Department of German, Russian and East Asian Languages offers many opportunities for students interested in spending either a year, semester, or summer abroad.

Study Abroad Programs

Austria (academic year or semester): open to students from any university —each year a BGSU German professor directs the program at the University of Salzburg. Contact Kristie Foell.

Austria (Summer 2010) three- or six-week language and culture programs. Contact Theodore Rippey.

China study abroad program at the Xi'an International Studies University (XISU) in China - open to all BGSU undergraduates, no prior knowledge of Chinese is necessary but intensive language study is a part of the program. Contact Timothy Pogacar.

Germany information on other exchange programs, internship programs, and scholarship programs to study abroad in Germany

Japan qualified students may go as exchange students to Nanzan University, Saitama University, or Hiroshima Jogakuin University in Japan. Open to students of any major who have completed Japanese 102 or equivalent.
