Are you looking for a program that goes beyond the typical graduate student orientation? A program to help you prepare for
all aspects of being a graduate student or graduate assistant? Then you've just taken your first step in the right direction.
BGSU's Graduate Student Enhancement Program (GradSTEP) is here to help all graduate students reach higher skill levels in
technology, research, and teaching competence, as well as personal development and academic proficiency. GradSTEP is open
to all graduate students, faculty, and staff and is required for graduate students receiving an assistantship contract from
BGSU. GradSTEP is offered throughout the year as either The August Program or The Ongoing Program.
If you have not already completed our program, as a graduate student receiving an assistantship you will soon be participating
in the Graduate Student Enhancement Program. GradSTEP has a long history of helping new and continuing graduate students like
you become familiar with the community and services available to them during their tenure at Bowling Green State University.
Although the primary goal of GradSTEP is to ensure that our graduate assistants are well prepared when they go into their
classes and and to meet the requirements of their assistantship assignments; we are also dedicated to you as an individual
graduate student and are here to help you succeed with your academic goals. GradSTEP has been developed and refined over more
than twenty years. There is a strong feeling of pride knowing that the improvements we continue to make in our program have
made the acclamation process easier for the students and faculty who participate, and that it has become a model program for
many other institutions of higher learning.
Greetings from Barbara Peck, GradSTEP Director
