Frances Washburn accepts a Pendleton blanket from Ethnic Studies faculty member Billy J. Stratton. Dr. Washburn visited BGSU in Spring 2009 as part of the 30th Anniversary of the Department of Ethnic Studies. She was the first speaker in the Indigenous Voices series.

After presenting his paper entitled "Talkin' Bout My Generation: Youth, Power and Politics in the 2008 Elections",
William "Upski" Wimsatt challenged BGSU students to think critically about their political power. Mr. Wimsatt visited BGSU's Department of Ethnic Studies in Fall 2008.
