Profile:

Dissertation, titled "American Dreams: Gendered Migration from India" focused on Asian Indian migrations between India and metropolitan Detroit. Her primary areas of interests include the relationship between gender and migration, as well as the role of immigrants in shaping the political economy of urban America, particularly metropolitan Detroit. Dr. Bhalla is the coordinator for ETHN 1010 "Intro to Ethnic Studies" courses.
