person testing water qualityClean, plentiful water is an essential component of good environmental health. The Environmental Health Program offers coursework, laboratory and field experiences preparing students to play a role in assuring safe water supplies and aquatic ecosystem health. Of particular note is our course Principles of Water Quality (ENVH 402), required of all of our majors.

The USGS National Water-Quality Assessment Program retrieves data for more than 50 major river basins. It includes maps, summary reports, compunds measured, publications, and more.

The U.S. EPA Monitoring and Assessing Water Quality Program contains water quality reports, monitoring, assessing and reporting guidlines, databases, mapping, biological assessment, and more.

The National Water Quality Monitoring Council provides information on perfromance based systems, nutrients, biology, field and lab accredidation, and water quality data elements.
