Candadian Wilderness
and Niagara Hydropower

ENVS 400 Canadian Wilderness and Niagara Hydropower

(3 Credit Hours)

This junior/senior field experience course will focus on the cooperation between The U.S. and Canada in ecosystem and species preservation and power sharing. Camp in the magnificent outback of Algonquin Provincial Park, a wilderness area larger than the state of Vermont and canoe its chain of lakes and streams while studying wolf ecology and habitat preservation strategies. Stand beside the awesome power of Niagara Falls as it plunges more than 200 feet from Lake Erie to the Niagara River and Lake Ontario. Class will meet throughout the semester to prepare for the trip which will take place May 12th – 18th. Enrollment in this class is limited by Park regulations. Additional fee required.
