Teaching
As Director of our program in Environmental Health, I spend the majority of my time working with undergraduates. Below is a list of the courses that I now teach regularly:

• ENVH 105 - Environmental Health Science
• ENVH 210 - Global Commons
• ENVH 306 - Environmental Regulation, Organization and Administration
• ENVH 402 - Principles of Water Quality
• ENVH 403 - Water Quality Laboratory
• ENVH 407 - Environmental Toxicology
• ENVH 491 - Practicum (internship)
• ENVH 492 - Comprehensive Environmental Health Practices
Click here for a full description of the courses.

Our courses are sized so that I get the chances to know all of our students, encourage students to get involved with research, and to think both locally and globally.

I was fortunate in obtaining substantial experience before joining BGSU. I've worked as a reservoir manager and microbiologist, environmental toxicologist, and environmental engineer and planner. I use these experiences to help my teaching and my advising.

Research
I work a lot on a national level on issues related to environmental health curriculum. (The Environmental Health Program at BGSU is one of only 24 nationally accredited programs!)

International work is another major interest area, looking at how different cultures are dealing with their environmental issues. This has brought me to many countires around the world, including bringing students with me to China and to Russia.

I also continue to work on water and wastewater quality issues. My goal with this work is to help ensure that people have water safe to drink, and that ecosystems remain healthy.
