SUZAN AIKEN, TOBY COLEY, and JOE ERICKSON have been awarded Non-Service Fellowships to support their dissertation work during 2010-2011. The awards were made by the rhetoric faculty based on the quality of applications they submitted for these dissertation projects: Suzan, "Silence as a Rhetor’s Tool "; Toby, "Ethics of New Media and the Writing Classroom”; Joe, "Webbing Rhetoric and Composition."
LEE NICKOSON was named BGSU's Outstanding Contributor to Graduate Education. She had been nominated by students in the Rhetoric & Writing PhD Program and then selected by judges from several different departments across the university
KRIS BLAIR was reappointed by the Dean for a second term as English Department Chair based on the department's strong evaluation and recommendation. And she was selected to give the Spring 2010 Arts and Sciences College Distinguished Faculty Lecture. Her presentation was entitled "Twittering Our Way Toward Tenure: The Politics of Scholarly Communication in the Digital Age." pdf
