BGSU offers graduate degrees in English (Literary and Textual Studies), a certificate in Scientific and Technical Writing,
and a Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Writing, and offers generous stipends and financial aid packages that include both tuition waivers
and out-of-state fee waivers.
Linked below is an application for an assistantship. Presently, newly funded graduate assistants on the master's level receive
an $8,404.00 stipend and doctoral assistants receive an $11,765.00 stipend to teach two courses the first year in our General
Studies Writing program. The deadline for applying for an assistantship for the 2008 academic year is February 1, 2008. Application

- Send transcripts for all colleges attended,
- You must submit three letters of recommendation to the Graduate English office 4. Submit a few samples of your writing to
the Graduate English office, and
- Write a statement of purpose which also goes to the Graduate English office
- Take the Graduate Record Examination in order to complete your application.
