Center for Photochemical Sciences hosted its
annual Scientific Advisory Board Meeting on October 5, 2007. The
Center for Photochemical Sciences Scientific
Advisory Board is
comprised of distinguished scientists from major corporations and
universities, who assist the Center by reviewing its progress over the
last year and offer suggestions to help shape and facilitate its future
direction.
Dr. Douglas Neckers welcomed new Center
faculty,
Zhaohui Xu, Weidong
Yang, and Mikhail Zamkov, who
each gave
short presentations on their research.
The afternoon session included talks by Massimo
Olivucci on Computational
Photochemistry at Work: From the Primary Event in Vision to the Design
of Biomimetic Molecular Switches and senior Ph.D. student Manuel
Palacios who discussed his research on Making Smart Arrays: Minimal Size
High-Resolution Optical Sensor Arrays.
