The Department of Chemistry at Bowling Green State University provides courses, research, and programs of study that reflect the central role of chemistry in the science and technology of tomorrow. The programs offered lead to a B.S. in Chemistry, M.S., in Chemistry, and Ph.D. in Photochemical Sciences.

Along with a strong focus in the traditional areas of chemistry such as organic, inorganic, analytical, physical and biochemistry, the Department of Chemistry has also developed a unique, interdisciplinary research program in the photochemical sciences.  The Center for Photochemical Sciences, established in 1985, focuses on a wide range of investigations into the role of light in chemical and physical processes and this emphasis enables collaborative interdisciplinary research.

We hope that you take the time to check out our website and learn about our degree programs, faculty, and research opportunities. If you have any questions after browsing these pages, please get in touch by contacting us.
