- I will not be able to provide grades by e-mail, over the phone or by posting
a list of grades.
Latest Update on the myth of Santa
- final exam is comprehensive and it includes
some new material from chapters 10-11
(see lecture notes)
- the final exam (175 points) will follow the hour exam format
- Of course it is a 2 hr exam, about time an a half in length
- expect both short answer and multiple choice on past exams
- all posted material is still available on this site
(follow menu items below to locate older material)
Grading Information
On Wed Dec 12 you can pick up, in class, a sheet with your grades
as recorded in my grade sheet. Please check to make sure there are no errors.
The first number is a total (exams and papers) and it is the best predictor
of your grade to date.
maximum possible score is 375 points-- the highest grades in the class
are about 330-340.
If I were assigning grades now (before the final) it would probably be
- A's 330- 300 (to about 92% of 330 points)
- B's 329-268 (to 85% of the 330)
- C's 267-218 (to 65% of 330 )
- D's 217-198 (to about 60% of 330)
- strong quizzes and other assignment can shift by, say, 10 points
Of course the final counts 175 points so it will
make a significant difference in the overall grade.
Your Assigned Papers were returned Mon Dec 12 ; average is 65-70 points out of 75
Exams were returned on Friday, Dec 7
Chapter 10 material (10-1 through 10-4)
final exam is Monday, December 17, 1:15-3:15 pm
(the syllabus has a small error in the exam time)

Final exam will include material in Web notes from Ch 10, 11 even if we
did not complete it in class. The material in chapter 11 is limited

The notes are in outline format and are copies of the notes used in class.
Notes are generally posted within 24 hours and often appear before class.
