In all probability no one will hunt you down or access formal penalties if you don't complete the audit when expected. The idea is to see what progress you are making towards your degree requirements and what course work you must complete to be able to graduate. All of the university, college and degree requirements are checked.
The Junior Audit Form is also called a degree checklist and copies are available from:
You should get a copy of the checklist and fill it out with the courses you have completed and are in which you are currently enrolled. (You are sent a printout called DARS that is a useful guide to the courses you have taken.) Make an appointment with your departmental advisor to go over the form and review your plans for next year's courses. Have your advisor sign the form and mail or deliver it to the college office. You will receive a formal response, listing any unfilled requirements or any items that have been questioned. In some cases, your advisor may file a request for a waiver from a specific requirement. (You can meet with a College advisor for a degree audit, but the college advisors generally do not have a good understanding of the differences between upper level courses in chemistry and the expectations of the profession.)
