Goal: Establish interinstitutional
collaboration and opportunities in environmental risk assessment
establish a working group in this area if possible
Strengths at regional institutions:
Note after the fact: Lake Erie Center (Department of EEES) is an important resource for faculty in all three institutions Medical College of Ohio: Public Health technology transfer for applications designed to protect human health. As for environmental risk assessment, development of sensors Bowling Green State University: Center for Photochemical Sciences chemical sensors. Biological Sciences also has strength in (environmental) microbiology yielding development of bioreporters Sensors (opportunities):
Bioreporters In environmental assessment, our location is an asset given Lake Erie, our industrial base, research facilties on the Lake water is a limiting resource Indoor monitoring workplace environment. Compliance with NIOSH, EPA, USDA Agricultural monitoring assessment of harvest time, maturity of plants We need appropriate IT/AI support to alow measurements and data analysis that is truly meaningful; this might be the responsibility of a separate working group Administrative support to make collaborative project/grants run seamlessly Environmental impacts of manufacturing; building control during manufacturing process, rather than contributing to the waste stream real time sensors required! |
