Biomolecular Sciences Day

March 24, 2001

"Working Together to Build Northwest Ohio's Future" was the theme for the first Biomolecular Sciences Day held on March 24, 2001, at the Hilton Hotel/Dana Conference Center in Toledo, Ohio.  This event explored regional research interactions, especially academic-private sector collaborations and other statewide funding initiatives.  The participants, which included faculty and students from the University of Toledo, Medical College of Ohio, and Bowling Green State University ("Tripartisanship of Technology") as well as representatives from several northwest Ohio firms, came to the event to meet new and old colleagues and to share ideas for improving education and research in the biomolecular sciences.

The entire group of over 75 participants first met in a plenary session to discuss the goals of this event (click here for remarks by Mark Parr from the Regional Technology Alliance):

The plenary session was followed by a poster session.  The group then divided into four breakout sessions which held discussion on the following topics: Session summaries:    Session I   Session II   Session III    Session IV
