NIH Grant 1-R01 DC03577
"Aerodynamic and Acoustic Models of Phonation" from the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders,
1998-2006
This grant is a consortium among Bowling Green State University, Purdue University, The University of Toledo, and the University
of Cincinnati:
BGSU: Plexiglas model M5 and M6 work for steady flow, empirical aerodynamic equations for a wide range of glottal conditions,
3-mass model of phonations, numerical schemes for dynamic phonation
PU: Aeroacoustics of sound production and phonation, empirical and computational, steady and dynamic models
UT: Computational modeling of conditions for the Plexiglas model M5, dynamic modeling with forced vocal fold motion
UC: Excised and live canine models of phonation with emphasis on flow visualization
