Northwestern Mexico (Western Sonora and northwestern Sinaloa, Mexico)

Size: 24 to 36 inches (61-91cm), max 40 inches

Lifespan 15 years

Active: nocturnal

Habitat: desert

Housing: 20-30 gal aquarium, dry, undertank heating, temperature gradient; substrate: newsprint, silica sand, pine shavings; water bowl large enough for soaking; shelter
Ophiophagus (snake eating) -> house separately!

Temp.: juveniles, 80-90F
adults: 78-82F (?)

Foods: mice: pinky, fuzzy (adults are too large)
feed medium meal every 4-6 days

Breeding: brumation: 50 to 55F
breeding to egg laying: 32 to 46 days
clutch size: 6 to 10, average 8
incubation: 57 to 66 days
juveniles: 7 to 8 inches

Temperament: can be nippy
