This taxon occurs in streams at higher elevations in the park. We have records from , Bower Creek, a tributary of Forge Creek in Abrams Creek watershed, Blount Co., TN, Beech Flats Prong, the westernmost tributary of the Oconaluftee River, Swain Co., NC.
