Eunotia praerupta var. bigibba - (Kützing) Grunow

This diatom is common on wetwalls and waterfall splash zones throughout the park.



We have records from wetwalls or splash zones in several areas of the park, including wetwalls along the Maddron Bald trail, along the road to Clingmans Dome, on the way to Chimney Tops, along Alum Cave trail, and the splash zones of Laurel Falls and Grotto Falls.
