Eunotia billii - Lowe & Kociolek

Lowe and Kociolek originally described this diatom as a new species with the type location of Bower Creek, a tributary of Forge Creek in Abrams Creek watershed, Blount Co., TN. We have since collected it from several other watersheds throughout the park. It occurs in low abundance mixed with other algae often as an epiphyte on aquatic mosses.
