The Christina Merrick Scholarship
is given to a student who has demonstrated excellence in the study of Japanese language.
- Recipients must be Asian Studies majors.
- The recipient must exhibit service to the promotion of Japanese Program through their activities and be actively involved in the Japanese Club.
The Dr. Hiroko Nakamoto Scholarship for Japanese studies is given
to a student who has demonstrated excellence in the study of
Japan.
- Recipients must be Asian Studies majors.
- Recipients must have studied hard to learn the Japanese language and have contributed to the Japanese program.
The Mrs. Seiko McCann Scholarship is given to a student who has demonstrated
leadership to promote American-Japanese friendship and understanding.
- Recipients must be Asian Studies majors
- Recipients must have contributed to the mutual understanding through culture between US and Japan
The Dr. Kiyo Kitahara Scholarship for Asian Studies is given to
an Asian Studies major who has demonstrated excellence in the
study of Asia.
- Recipients must be Asian Studies majors.
- The recipients must have committed to promote Asian Studies.
The Dr.Fujiya Kawashima Memorial Scholarship is given to an Asian Studies major who has demonstrated a commitment to bridging Asian and American culture.
- Recipients must be Asian Studies majors.
- Preference shall be given Asian Studies majors with history as a minor.
- Recipients must exhibit service to the promotion of Asian Studies through their activities and/or involvement in the Japanese or Chinese Club.

* All the recipients must attend the award ceremony held by the Arts and Sciences unless they have classes.
