Biography:
Ms.
Pizaña is the administrative assistant for the
American Culture Studies Program. Originally from San
Antonio, Texas, Gloria grew up just down the road from
Bowling Green in Pemberville, Ohio. Gloria has worked
continuously for Bowling Green State University since
1978 except for a stint working for the nearby University
of Findlay. In that time, she has worked in the Financial
Aid Office, for the College of Health and Human Services,
Office of Registration and Records, and the Department
of Mathmatics and Statistics, and, since 2001, she has
served as the Administrative Assistant for the American
Culture Studies Program.
Gloria
is also an alumna of Bowling Green State University having
earned both her B.A. in Sociology in 1994 and her Associate
Degree in Applied Business in 1983.
Gloria is a member of the BGSU Classified Staff Council,
the Ohio Staff Council in Higher Education (former Chair),
Latino Networking Alliance (former Chair), and is a founding
member of both the Latino Alumni Society (of which she
also Chaired for two years) and the Latino Student Union
(of which she has also served as an advisor).
Aside
from her professional experience at BGSU, Gloria has a
near encyclopedic knowledge of the inner-workings of BGSU
and the surrounding area. She has also devoted much of
the past eight years towards a personal genealogy project
"when [she] can find time." |
