The Ice Ponds are located behind the Herb Garden and Slaughter House. The first reservoir was constructed in 1885, and the second in 1942, when concrete sides were put on both. They were used for watering lawns and gardens and for harvesting ice for the Ice House. Fish were also farmed in the reservoirs for food.
