Keynote Presentation, Dr. Kathleen Yancey

At 11:00 a.m. Catherine Cardwell, Interim Vice Provost of Academic Programs, introduced the keynote speaker, Dr. Kathleen Yancey, who delivered “Learning by Design: The Role of ePortfolios in Fostering Intentional Learning.” Dr. Yancey's keynote examined two “learning” affordances of eportfolios: the basic practices that students engage in when creating eportfolios—collection, selection, and reflection and how eportfolios can function as a site for integrative learning, a space where students bring together and synthesize their learning from multiple sites, both on campus and off.
