Using Technology to Enhance Student Learning
This workshop /discussion offers a venue to share and exchange ideas about the paradigm shifts in learning and communication. Today's technology offers us an open learning environment that makes both content and its creation process transparent. We will use the Educause article, "Minds on Fire: Open Education, the Long Trail, and Learning 2.0" by John Seely Brown and Richard Adler as a discussion piece to foster conversation about how to engage in Learning 2.0. We will then briefly review some Web 2.0 tools that are available to help us encourage Learning 2.0. We encourage participants to read the article before coming to the session, but that is not a requirement. The article may be found at: http://www.educause.edu/ero/article/minds-fire-open-education-long-tail-and-learning-20
Facilitators: Ryan Bronkema, Liane Ortis, or Adam Murphy
