Inquiry-based Learning (IBL)

The Boyer Commission Report, Reinventing Undergraduate Education (1998) asserts that all universities have the obligation to provide “opportunities to learn through inquiry rather than simple transmission of knowledge." Consider that if you are teaching inquiry your students will have an approach to learning that they can use long after they have graduated. Using multiple resources, this discussion session will explore ideas for teaching inquiry and how and where inquiry might be implemented.
